Les Pélerins, kilometer 16.604
Les Pélerins stop did not exist when the line opened. It was added in 1923 when the Glaciers cable car started operating. This cable car closed in 1951 when its successor took over, the current Aiguille du Midi cable car. The train stop still exists though, it serves notably Chamonix youth hostel and the Gaillands recreation area: lakes (lac des Gaillands, lac à l’Anglais - “Englishman’s lake”, climbing rock). The lakes were dug to provide material for the railway’s embankments.
The former passenger building was refurbished in the mid-1990s. It now houses an activity hall called Beg’na, used for instance for the rehearsal of a folk band.
